Active Isolated Stretching

AIS is a dynamic system for improving your flexibility and overall well-being. Stretching your muscles not only reduces your chance of injury, but strengthens your tendons and improves your circulation. I automatically incorporate some stretching into each massage I give, regardless of modality.

Aromatherapy

$5 additional per session

Aromatherapy uses fragrant oils extracted from herbs, flowers and fruits to naturally enhance the benefits of massage.  Before each session begins, you can choose unique oil blends to be used throughout your session. I am a big proponent of Young Living, so I use all Young Living essential oils in my practice.

Cancer/Oncology Massage

Oncology Massage is a special type of massage developed specifically for cancer patients. Cancer patients have unique needs which must be addressed to make sure that a massage is beneficial to their health. I focus my attention on creating a gentle, nurturing environment for you to relax into.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Geriatric Massage

Geriatric massage is a form of massage designed to meet the specific needs of the elderly. It helps to improve blood circulation, relieve pain, and also increase range of motion. If you are elderly, geriatric massage can help you maintain and improve your overall health, as well as regain certain physical functions that have been reduced due to aging. In addition, since the elderly don't typically receive enough physical touch, this massage can also help alleviate symptoms of loneliness or depression.

Hot Stone Therapy

Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.

Integrated Massage

An Integrated Massage is a Massage that uses a combination of the massage techniques such as Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Reflexology, Sports, etc. I am constantly taking continuing education to learn more modalities, so that I will be integrating new techniques into massages as I learn them.

Myofascial Massage

Myofascial massage is a technique used to treat injuries and discomfort, reducing pain and increasing range of motion. Myofascial massage differs from other types of massage in that it targets the fascia - the membrane surrounding muscles - rather than the muscle itself. Since fascia completely encases every muscle in the body, imbalances in the fascia can have serious effects on your range of motion and comfort level. While other forms of massage can overlook the fascia, myofascial massage focuses specifically on releasing tension in this important membrane.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular therapy is a system of massage techniques that were developed in the 1930's by Dr. Stanley Lief in England. It uses a holistic approach towards healing, emphasizing and stimulating the body's natural ability to heal itself. Neuromuscular therapy also enhances the function of joints and muscles, and accelerates the overall healing process by facilitating the release of endorphins.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.

Remedial Massage

Remedial massage focuses on treating painful conditions that affect the soft tissues of the body. It is designed to treat specific medical conditions, and sometimes requires a physician's prescription. My goal is to restore full health to the soft tissues of your body, both treating your specific conditions as well as improving your range of motion.

If you are currently undergoing physical therapy, chiropractic care, or rehabilitation therapy, your doctor may also suggest massage therapy as part of your overall treatment plan. The following is a list of conditions I treat most often:

* Fibromyalgia

* Sciatica Nerve Syndrome

* Post-Oncology Therapy

* Scar Mobilization

* Spinal Dysfunctions

* Migraine Headaches

* Plantar Fasciitis

 * Fusions

 * TMJ

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of light to medium pressure strokes to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing “trigger points” in your body.  Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle tissue rather than along the energy pathways of the body.  These ‘knots’ are built up throughout a person’s life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress.  During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques order to release your trigger points.  This process can be quite painful at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative.

Young Living Raindrop Technique

$85 per 60 minutes

Raindrop technique is a relaxing and invigorating massage combining aromatherapy with a mixture of swedish massage, an ancient Tibetan technique called Vitaflex, and a Native American technique called Feather stroke. During a Raindrop Massage, a sequence of therapeutic grade essential oils are dropped like raindrops onto the back and on the spinal reflex points of the foot, and gently massaged in. These essential oils not only promote alignment of the spine, they also align and balance the flow of energy throughout the body. Raindrop Massage essential oils increase and align energy flow by opening or releasing blockages that are preventing free circulation.
